11/2/18

After three years, we've finally updated the site. Alot has happened (and not happened) since we last checked in. Let's catch you up:

Dan debuted live with us at the Rusty Nail in Ardmore on 8/1/15 and the DOI-ness was apparently too much for some present to handle. We played once more at the now super-popular Everybody Hits in Philly on 9/19/15, and this ended up being our most recent show to date.

Recording and mixing for the full length album, now titled Your Ankles, continued until November 2015. As 2016 unfolded, practices became more infrequent and the album entered a state of limbo. Some vocals remained unfinished in Box's absence, and rough mixes almost became de facto final mixes due to technical issues. Eventually, more work was put in and a finished version was completed and band-approved in mid-2017, but by that point the momentum was long gone. Between often-conflicting schedules, various priorities, and the prospect of another member moving out of state, there didn't seem to be much to do with a new album. Cover art hadn't been finalized either. The DOI album was DOA. Shortly before Tom's move, DOI reconvened for what was expected to be the last practice in a long time and even performed a mini-set for a handful of friends that eventually showed up.

Since then, Chuck, Jake (Your Ankles producer), and Tucker (Odds Against era), have formed reggae trio The Manipulators. Already they have eclipsed adult DOI's live output and dropped two EPS (Paid In Strange and Hidden In Plain View ). Meanwhile, Tom has redirected his efforts toward writing and is currently involved in covering Boston's underground music scene

DOI's 2010's comeback was about as unlikely as a hockey goalie scoring twice within three years, but it quickly went much further than a mere throwback. The size of the song catalog nearly quadrupled from the old days, with a greater variety of style and tightness of musicianship than old DOI would have been capable of. Though we all had to eventually move on to new chapters of our lives, we'd like to think that we haven't seen our Last Day DOI-ing, and considering when we started, we may just stand a chance to become the youngest band to ever play a 20th anniversary show. With that being said, we want to sincerely  thank everyone who supported us for those few years and give half of the peace sign to any cheesesteaks who didn't. You know who you are.

7/4/15

DOI will return to the stage August 1st at the Rusty Nail Tavern in Ardmore, PA. With several new songs to unleash and Dan debuting on vocals this will be one not to miss. We will have advance tickets available which you can contact us to purchase.

In other news, Mistah Box is parting ways with DOI to answer his calling in Ohio. We wish him the best in his pursuits.

Lastly, the album's pretty far into production and we aim to have some tracks to share this Summer.

1/19/15

After about a year and a half of preparation, we have returned to the studio to record the follow up to Cooked Clay Samuelson. This time we're working with producer Jake Moser, who recorded rough tracks for 13 songs on Saturday. As the production progresses we'll keep you posted on developing details.

10/9/14

Last weekend's show was cancelled at the last minute because the other bands dropped out and we expect to announce some other shows very soon. DOI is now on Instagram so be sure to follow us on there. The home page has been reworked to feature both our Instagram feed and our EP on Soundcloud.

9/25/14

DOI welcomes Mistah Box as our new hype-man. Having just released his album "The Adventures of Loudpack Larry", Box will debut with us at Mojo 13's on October 5.

8/24/14

We are stoked to announce that we will be playing at Mojo 13 in Wilmington on October 5. This will be our first show with Dan and we're going to play alot of brand new songs, so be sure not to miss it. For more details see the "Live" page.

8/10/14

Welcome to the new official DOI website! Here you'll find information about the band presented more conveniently and thoroughly than on social media platforms.

We have taken the last few months readying our new lead singer Dan and are on the homestretch with preparations to return the the stage and studio. At this point there's more new material than old material and it is not yet clear if we will be recording another EP or a full-length album. We plan to announce our first shows of the year (and with Dan) very soon.

Dan is also preparing to release his solo album, "Highly Irresponsible" in the very near future. A music video and single are in the works. For more information on his solo work, visit the Unique Skillz facebook page.

That's all for now.
